Directions
- Prepare the Herb Butter
In a bowl, combine softened butter, dill, chives, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Mix into a smooth compound butter.
- Stuff and Season the Trout
Pat trout dry and season inside and out with salt and pepper. Stuff the cavity with lemon slices and a couple spoonfuls of herb butter.
- Grill on Cedar Plank
Preheat grill to medium heat. Place the soaked plank directly on the grate and close the lid for 5 minutes. Set the trout on the plank and grill with lid closed for 20–25 minutes, or until cooked through and flaking.
- Serve and Enjoy
Serve hot with grilled seasonal veggies. The smoky cedar aroma mixed with fresh herbs makes this a rustic, restaurant-worthy BBQ dish.
