BBQ Butterflied Sardines with Herb Gremolata

    Fresh Sardines, Butterflied And Cleaned
  • 2 tbsp
    Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp
    Sea Salt
  • 0.25 tsp
    Black Pepper
  • 1 pcs
    Garlic Clove, Grated
  • 1 tbsp
    Chopped Parsley
  • 1 tsp
    Lemon Zest
  • 1 tbsp
    Lemon Juice
  • 1 tbsp
    Capers (Optional)
Directions
  • Prep the Sardines

    Rinse and pat dry sardines. Drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper on both sides.

  • Make the Gremolata

    In a bowl, mix garlic, parsley, lemon zest, lemon juice, and capers if using. Set aside.

  • Grill the Sardines

    Preheat grill or flat griddle over medium heat. Grill sardines skin-side down for 3 minutes, then flip and cook 2 more minutes.

  • Serve and Enjoy

    Plate with a spoonful of gremolata on top. Serve with crusty bread and grilled lemon. A rustic, punchy seafood classic.
